OIPC Conference and Annual General Meeting (AGM)

January 15, 2020, 8:30am-5:00pm, Boardroom of the Watershed Conservation Centre, Upper Thames River Conservation Authority (UTRCA), 1424 Clarke Rd, London ON

This one-day event is an excellent opportuity for management professionals, researchers and members of the public to network and engage in the topic of invasive plant control and restoration project initiatives. It will feature a broad range of speakers, topics and themes relating to current invasive species research and management projects including restoration initiatives, biocontrol updates, Phragmites management and economic impacts of invasive species. Registration opens at 8:30 am. The Conference will be from 9:00 am – 5:00 pm. The ticket price includes lunch and refreshments as well as the evening networking event. *Parking is available for free on site.

OIPC Evening Networking Event

January 15, 2020, 5:30pm to 9:00pm, Best Western Plus Lamplighter Inn & Conference Centre, 591 Wellington Rd, London ON

Take this time to mingle and connect with your fellow colleagues and others actively engaged in invasive plant management. This is an opportunity to network while enjoying a light snack. A cash bar will be available. Separate tickets can be purchased to attend the evening social, if you wish to bring a friend or to attend this event only.

The OIPC will also be hosting a used book sale as part of the OIPC Networking Reception. Do you have any field guides or environmental books that you no longer use?  Do you have a favourite book or guide that you would be willing to donate?  If so, please bring them with you to the Networking Reception or contact info@oninvasives.ca. Your donation of books and the proceeds from the sale will be used to support the great work of the OIPC.

OPWG Annual Meeting

January 16, 2020, 8:30am-4:00pm, Boardroom of the Watershed Conservation Centre, Upper Thames River Conservation Authority (UTRCA), 1424 Clarke Rd, London ON

The second day will resume in the boardroom of the UTRCA Watershed Conservation Centre, where the Ontario Phragmites Working Group (OPWG) will host its Annual Meeting. This event will bring together environmental professionals and other interested people from across Ontario to connect with others managing invasive Phragmites and to stay up-to-date on new projects and control methods. Doors open at 8:30 am.

Will you support OIPC and protect Ontario’s natural legacy from invasive plants? Your membership will help us continue our great work to support municipalities, conservation authorities, environmental groups and citizens across the province to effectively combat invasive species.

Online Webinar Access:

We are offering online WEBINAR access to a portion of both the OIPC Conference (January 15th) and the OPWG Annual Meeting (January 16th). Participate in one session, or both days. The cost to participate by webinar is $40 per day for OIPC members and $80 per day for non-members. Webinar access on January 15th will include the afternoon speakers at the OIPC Conference. Webinar access on January 16th includes all presentations at the OPWG Annual Meeting. We hope that you can join us in this format!

The deadline to complete your WEBINAR registration is by Monday, January 13th at 5:pm.
