The 11th Annual Ontario Phragmites Working Group Meeting is taking place virtually on Tuesday, January 18th, 2022.

This unique meeting is offered in conjunction with our Annual Ontario Invasive Plant Conference which is occurring virtually on Thursday, January 13th, 2022. Together, these two meetings result in a fantastic two-day event which brings together professionals and passionate citizens from across Ontario and beyond.

For the second year in a row, we’re going online using our industry leading virtual outreach and networking software, Remo!

The Ontario Phragmites Working Group’s (OPWG) theme for 2022 is “A Retrospective”. Every year the OPWG grows and attracts new attendees to each annual meeting, consistently expanding beyond the core group of pioneer “Phraggers” since OPWG’s inception 11 years ago. As always, we welcome new attendees who bring fresh perspectives, energy and an eagerness to find tools for Phragmites management. For this year’s meeting we recognize the importance of looking back to be able to continue our momentum forward, and to support new and existing Phragmites control programs. Attendees will hear the successes and lessons learned on various long-term and more recent Phragmites management projects from volunteer-led groups, municipalities, provincial government, academia and NGO’s across Ontario.
