Our annual Ontario Invasive Plant Council Conference occured virtually on January 16th, 2025.

The 2025 OIPC conference theme was The Leading Edge of Invasion. This year’s theme adressed how we could stay ahead of the “invasion curve”. It showcased new and upcoming invasive species, cutting-edge research to detect and mitigate their impacts, and emphasize the importance of adaptive management strategies. This event encouraged people to explore innovative strategies, programs and partnerships to address the future spread of invasive species through a “leading-edge” perspective.

This event brought professionals and passionate citizens together from across Ontario and beyond. This interactive event was a learning opportunity and a great chance to network with others working in the field of invasive plant management. We were excited to support connections in this online venue. This conference was an excellent opportunity for municipalities, government agencies, NGO’s, academics, students, and citizen scientists to learn, take part in discussions and to meet others who are knowledgeable and passionate about invasive plant management.
