Did you know that Goutweed is labelled as one of the worst garden weeds in perennial gardens and has many characteristics that make it extremely difficult to control? Due to its extensive underground root system and its tolerance to drought and shade, it can escape gardens and invade natural areas where it forms dense stands that outcompete native plants, inhibit native tree regeneration and reduce biodiversity.

Join us for an informative 2.5 hr online workshop which will provide an overview of our NEW Best Management Practices guide for Goutweed!

Learn together with other dedicated individuals and professionals on our interactive virtual learning platform and earn a certificate in Goutweed Best Management Practices from the Ontario Invasive Plant Council!

Created with input from experts in Goutweed management, this workshop will provide a basic introduction to Goutweed, its biology, identification characteristics, and pathways of spread. Attendees will be introduced to recommended strategies for the control of Goutweed and Best Management Practices.

This workshop will also feature a case study of Goutweed control underway in Ontario!

This workshop is for your if:

  • You are responsible for the planning and management of Invasive Plants.
  • You are currently managing a property with Goutweed present.
  • You want to expand your knowledge and learn the latest management practices for this invasive plant.

This workshop will take place on July 7th, 2022 from 9:00 am to 11:30 am.
