Erect hedge-parsley is also known as Japanese hedge-parsley or upright hedge-parsley. This plant is a member of the carrot family and is native to Eurasia. It was introduced to North America in 1917 assumed to be due its medicinal uses. This highly adaptable plant threatens native plant communities due to its vigorous growth rate, the creation of dense patches of vegetation and its high dispersal capability.
